“We think he’s up to something. Something big.”
Thomas thought that his days of saving-the-world were over and he could enjoy a nice, long relaxing break – psych!
It all started when someone hacked into his friend’s computer.
“I have no idea how they got into this system or what their motivation is, but whoever they are, they’re elite.”
He’s given a message – that someone wants a mysterious weapon and if they get it, the world as we know it is over.
Which, honestly isn’t much to go on…but then the hacker sends them clues.
And Thomas begins making connections.
And soon they all realize just how great and powerful this threat truly is – will he get there in time?
Whew! This sequel did NOT disappoint.
I was so excited to delve back into Thomas’s world and was delighted to find it just as wonderful and magical as the first time!
I loved watching Thomas grow and mature in this one – gone are the simple-magics from book one and here to stay are these wild, complicated powers.
The mystery of the Wizard of Sumeria was so fun to puzzle out.
I definitely guessed the plot wrong about 75% of the time and was constantly surprised by the direction we were going (but it was a good surprise – I had so much fun on this journey!).
The cast of secondary characters really elevated this book – the teachers and the friends brought the book to a whole different level.
I am sooooo keeping my fingers crossed for a third!
With many thanks to Elandrian Press and J.M. Bergen for sending me a free copy in exchange for an honest review!
