Ahhh! Such a cute book!
A little caterpillar is feeling really lonely. He spends all his free time on his own, or watching the other bugs play together merrily.
Instead of eating the leaf, the caterpillar used it to dry up his eyes…”
He just doesn’t understand why people don’t like him (though he thinks it might because he’s ugly).
One wise firefly decides to take the young caterpillar under his wing…and finally, things begin to look up for the little fella.
“You just have to be honest with yourself and love yourself for who you are.”
I really enjoyed this one!
It was short and sweet. The illustrations were absolutely adorable and really enhanced the story.
I really liked how the firefly didn’t try to solve the problems for the caterpillar – instead the older bug led the younger one on a little journey of self-acceptance.
I do wish it was a bit longer, and there were a couple of areas where it could have been a bit smoother.
Overall – cute, fun children’s book!
