The Written Review:

“Don’t just watch the adventure…be the adventure.”

Makenna Grace Gold is an average thirteen-year-old…kind of.

She enjoys school, has a best friend (Sam) and just so happens to be the Virago.

So, she’s not the Chosen One, she’s their older sister.

Her toddler twin siblings, Emi and Noah, are prophesied to bring about a brand new era of peace and prosperity…if they live long enough.

Something was very, very wrong…

When Death himself pays Makenna a visit, she soon realizes that the brief interlude peace is over.

Will she be able to protect her siblings? Or will she lose them forever??

Ms. Creante strolled through…briefcase in hand, sporting a wicked smile from ear to ear.

Ahhh. This was such a satisfying return of to the Virago world.

I love that the second book is better than the first.

You can just tell that the author has really sunk into this series – the writing is stronger, the characters more vibrant and it came together so well.

The adventure to China was an interesting dynamic to add to the book series. I wish it there was a bit more showing of the setting but for the most part, it felt believable and enjoyable.

One thing that I like about the story is that we get both sides – the “good” and the “bad” – which made for a really interesting dynamic.

The evil characters were a little over-the-top – a bit of a caricature and a bit of a truly evil group but it worked – it worked so well!

Makenna was really endearing this round and I was rooting for her the whole time.

“HELLO! Worm really being overlooked here!”

And of course, I couldn’t forget my favorite little fella – Fluffy. This worm was such a hilarious little guy. He took over every scene and I LOVED IT.

…chalk one up for the Fluffinator.

All in all, I was quite impressed with this one! Keeping my fingers crossed for another!

A huge thank you to the author for sending me a free copy in exchange for an honest review!
