I’ve spent the last few months in a state of disarray.
It’s been such an incredible joy to connect to readers across the globe through Goodreads and my blog…but recently, I’ve felt like something was missing.
The spark that I used to feel when I wrote reviews was starting to dwindle. I still have fun writing, but it’s almost become a little same-y in my life.
Read book, write review. Rinse & Repeat.
Don’t get me wrong – reading and reviewing will be something I do until my dying day. Words are in my blood…but, I felt like I needed something more.
Something to kickstart my life. Something to add in some much-needed variety.
So, like many from my generation…I turned to YouTube and discovered a whole new world. There’s Meltotheany, Emma Books, Little Book Owl, Jesse the Reader, and so many more delightful, hilarious and witty bookish people.
It was a whole new way to talk about books.
BookTube. I couldn’t stop thinking about it.
And so, just last Sunday, I took the plunge and published my very first video – all about my bookish obsessions. From middle school to grad school – what books kept me up at night.
It was so much fun – I haven’t felt this excited since I wrote my first Goodreads review.
Watching people’s reactions was exhilarating. I must have refreshed the page nearly a hundred times that first day – watching the view count climb up.
I don’t know exactly where this is going, but I’m incredibly excited to find out. Thank you for coming along on a journey with me!
I’m soooo glad you’re trying new ways to reach your fans, Miranda! And I think the YouTube platform is perfect for you, as you’re a natural on camera! On a personal note, I’ve ignored YouTube, but your post about it sparked my interest and so I checked out your video. I have subscribed to your posts because I truly enjoyed the segment and look forward to others 🙂 !
Also…just a reminder that your written reviews are always a treat to read, in addition to being so informative–in terms of helping me decide what to add on my TBR list. I hope you’ll keep doing them, too!

Haha 🙂 I’m SUPER excited about the booktube platform too. It’s just so different from my usual review format.
I’m definitely not going to stop reviewing on GRs, I just want a little variety to what I can do with books 🙂
P.s. How’s book 3 coming along?

Aw, thanks for asking about book #3, Miranda! I’m only 3 chapters away from the midpoint, so I’m excited! I’m really enjoying weaving together the story threads in the last installment of The ELI Chronicles! You’ve been with me since The One and Only!!!
