BookTube – 10 Favorite Self-Published Authors

First of all – on this day of thanks –  thank you all so much!

Thank you to the authors who trust me to review your books, thank you to the reader for reading my reviews and thank you for coming along on this journey with me (though…does it really count as a journey when I never leave my house)?

This week I decided to go to my roots – where I truly began to read and review for others – the self-pub world.

I’ve had the opportunity to meet and read for hundreds of authors at this point and it’s an experience I truly treasure.

Self-published authors engage with the audience in a way wholly different from traditionally published authors. I love getting to know them and review for them.

The authors I’ve chosen to highlight in the above video are:

Matthew McAndrew – my very first self-pub book! It forever is granted a top-shelf spot for its very exsistence.

Simon Brading the very first author I contacted for a free copy in exchange for an honest review. At the time I was so sure he would call out – you’re not a REAL reviewer, what are you doing here?? (chalk it up to beginner’s doubt?) But honestly, he’s one of the nicest folks I’ve met!

The Pirate’s Heir – https://amzn.to/2OhWqSe

The Secrets of the Ancients – https://amzn.to/33bEi0A

The Whitechapel Plot – https://amzn.to/2KMD59C

The Battle Over Britain – https://amzn.to/2QIPhMu

The Russian Resistance – https://amzn.to/2DbVYPh

The Lifeboat at the End of the Universe – https://amzn.to/2qIRU6b

Fight to Dance – https://amzn.to/2QMUcvP

Back to Basics – http://bit.ly/2Ofjn8I

Julia Ash – one of the earliest people who contacted me for a review. One thing I love about this author is they way she continuously reaches out to her audience and actively engages with them. She’s working on the conclusion to her ELI Chronicles – which I cannot wait for!

The One and Only – https://amzn.to/2DbLPSv

The Tether – https://amzn.to/2QXTHPR

Brian Pacini – I loved his first book – it felt like such a unique plot compared to the cookie-cutters I was reading! And then…he…*drum roll* quoted me on his second book. There truly isn’t a way to fully explain how over-the-moon I was to be asked after for such a honor.

The Tribe of Iodine Wine – https://amzn.to/2KQltdc

The Queen of What Remains – https://amzn.to/35ssU1Z

Shani Chen – Her book came at just the right time in my life. I was about to be a newlywed and had so many questions. Her handy advice book brought up so many good points and aspects to consider. It was truly an eye opening experience!

If Nuns Were Wives – https://amzn.to/2OJpl0n

Tom Lewis – I originally read his ebook and was so engaged that I told him to keep me in mind if he publishes another. And he did! Hell was…a wild ride to put it mildly. It kept me on my toes. It kept me up at night. Whew. Wild.

Aftermath – https://amzn.to/35o74g2

Hell – https://amzn.to/35AhGZn

Wilmar Luna –  he was one of the first authors who I really got to learn about the process behind writing. It was so incredibly cool to learn all about his process and experiences with when it came to navigating the self-published world. I am keeping my fingers crossed for another book!

A Bitter Winter – https://amzn.to/2QKvJam

Michael Okon – I think it might be a tie between Michael and Brit for who has sent me the most books. I have read for him under this name and his pseudonym. I really enjoyed his later series. It was fun to read all of his books and see how his writing style grew stronger.

Monsterland – https://amzn.to/34hailr

Monsterland Reanimated – https://amzn.to/35wV7EN

Witches Protection Program – https://amzn.to/2KPNCRj

Brit Lunden – I’ve read for both “Brit” and “Carole P Roman” – and it has been a delight with every book. Carole’s books are children-orientated and are absolutely a hoot. Brit’s take on classic tales were spine-tingling good!

Bulwark – https://amzn.to/2QNSiv6

The Knowing – https://amzn.to/2KOOQMX

The Devil and Dayna Dalton – https://amzn.to/2rpPh9G

John Edward Marszalkowski – ahh! I absolutely adore his sense of humor. His books are always a delight and often have me laughing and reading aloud quotes to friends and family. Oh…and did I mention I was QUOTED on his latest? (It truly made me as giddy as a child!).

Buy My Book: Not Because You Should, But Because I’d Like Some Money – https://amzn.to/2Oh6hrt

HOW TO PUNCH KIDS IN BATHROOMS – https://amzn.to/35wzt3q

Uncredible Thoughts: Essays, Spiels, and Poppycock – https://amzn.to/37wgwjg

As a note – this list is CERTAINLY not exhaustive. There’s so many wonderful self-published authors out there. I’m planning on more videos and hopefully turning this into a series!

  1. Aw, you are the BEST, Miranda! Thank you so much for elevating self-published books by expressing respect and enjoyment for an author’s storytelling abilities. I also deeply appreciate the time you take to help promote books that you really like. For example, your BookTube episode of the first-round of your top-10 favorite self-published books meant soooo much to me. Thank you for including my books!!! In fact, it’s a great time of year to say…I am thankful for YOU!!!
