Oh. Look. Into the distance. It’s Miranda Reads with YET ANOTHER themed cookbook. She’s going to run out of bookshelves soon.
In other words, I am an addict and I refuse to accept help.
The long and short of it: I adored this Adventure Time Cookbook.
I just finished the series for the first time a few weeks ago and am pretty devastated that the cartoon is over (…you think I’d be satisified with 274 total episodes but…)
The premise behind this cookbook is that Finn the Human (after meeting his (spoiler) mom. And then he decides to “borrow” her cookbook.
Back in the land of Ooo, he begins to adjust and add to the book – first Jake’s recipes then the rest of the gang jumps in to help.
There’s recipes from Marceline, Ice King, Princess Bubblegum – even a few from special “guests” Fionna, Cake and other folks from Aaa.
It’s showcased of a scrapbook of sorts. With the “original” text hidden by post-it notes, doodles and text written by the various characters.
This had a very cute style and lots of great references – this book was CLEARLY made by a fan of the series.
The recipes were about 95% appetizing (no shade to Lady Rainicorn’s soy-human) and all were ones that I wanted to try.
Jake’s bacon pancakes and his fancy sandwich were among my top ones (even though that sandwich sounds like it’ll take all day to make!).
I’m really excited about this book and I can’t wait to watch Adventure Time: Distant Lands!!
Bacon pancakes sound soooo yummy! Great review, Miranda!!!
